About Adraki Gobi Recipe

Ginger aids in the digestion of heavy foods. It also helps build our immunity and fights cold and sinus infections too. And, adraki gobhi is a quick fix cauliflower recipe with ginger dominant taste.

Adraki Gobi tastes best if it is slow-cooked which is when the tangy Gobhi gets a beautiful taste too.

Ideally, as the name suggests, the adraki gobi recipe calls for a pronounced ginger flavour. However, if you prefer it slightly less, reduce the quantity of ginger accordingly.

Adraki Gobi Recipe or Ginger Cauliflower Recipe – Step by Step 

Slice ginger into julienne and soak them in vinegar.

Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add cumin seeds, green chilli and ginger paste, saute them for a minute.

Add sliced green chillies


Add florets followed by 3 tablespoons of water to the pan and mix it well. Cover it and let it cook for 5 min.

Add gobi or cauliflower florets to the pan

Next, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix it. Cover it and stir it from time to time.

Squeeze and add more than half of the vinegar-soaked ginger julienne.

Cook till florets are done. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it.

Garnish with coriander leaves

Garnish with leftover vinegar-soaked ginger julienne, and serve hot.

Ingredients

  • 2 No. Tomatoes Tamatar (Medium Sized & Roughly Chopped)
  • 1 No. Cauliflower Gobi (Large cauliflower cut into small florets)
  • 2 Tablespoon Ginger Paste Adrak ka paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds Jeera
  • 2 No. Green Chillies Hari Mirch (Split into half)
  • 0.25 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder Haldi Powder
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Lal Mirch Powder
  • 2 Inch Ginger Adrak (Cut into fine juliennes)
  • 3 Tablespoon Vinegar Sirka
  • 3 Tablespoon Coriander Leaves Hara Dhaniya (Chopped But optional)
  • 3 Tablespoon Oil Tel
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder 0.5 Teaspoon Optional
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Salt Adjust to suit your taste

Instructions

  • Get your ingredients ready.
  • Soak cut ginger julienne in vinegar.
  • Take a clean thick bottomed pan and heat vegetable oil.
  • Add cumin seeds, green chilli and ginger paste, saute them for a min.
  • Add cauliflower florets followed by 3 tablespoons of water to the pan and mix it well. Cover it and let it cook for 5 min.
  • Now add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix it. Cover it and stir it from time to time.
  • When gobi florets are half cooked, add chopped tomato to the pan.
  • Squeeze and add more than half of the vinegar-soaked ginger julienne.
  • Cook till gobi is done. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it.
  • Garnish with leftover vinegar-soaked ginger julienne, and serve hot.

Recipe Notes - Adraki Gobi ki Sabzi - Tangy Ginger Cauliflower Recipe

    • Quantity of red chilli powder can be altered as per your taste and preferences.
    • Immerse the gobi (cauliflower) in hot water with turmeric to clean it. If the cauliflower is infested with bugs, hot water will kill the bugs as well as remove any other dirt or contamination.
    • Add tomatoes at the end. This will ensure that the gobi (cauliflower) is nicely cooked through.

    • Garam Masala powder can also be used to enhance the taste.

Serving Suggestions
