Kiwi Salsa Recipe – Freshness Guaranteed

Kiwi Salsa Recipe; Freshness Guaranteed with this simplest salsa recipe

Anything better than fresh salsa? Well, maybe a few things, but you’ll be hard-pressed to think of them while diving into this amazingly delicious Simple Kiwi Salsa! This kiwi salsa is bright, tangy & slightly sweet – plus, I just love its gorgeous green colour.

This sweet-‘n-spicy salsa is perfect with chips or grilled fish — or you may just find yourself eating it with a spoon! Ever since I made this smoothie I’ve been a little bit obsessed with kiwis. Tropical fruits make great salsas (mango and pineapple versions abound) so I thought, why not a salsa with kiwi?

Kiwi fruit has a soft texture and a sweet but unique flavour. Did you know that Kiwi fruit is the national food of China? Although, China was not a major producing country of kiwifruit until recently, as it was traditionally collected from the wild. Kiwi fruit also has golden fresh in some of its varieties, though in India we usually get the ones with green flesh.

Kiwi Salsa is Ready - Kiwi Salsa Recipe

Kiwi salsa is ready

I decided to make Kiwi salsa as a filling for my leftover tandoori chicken burritos. The zingy taste of this salsa really elevated the taste to a greater level. So that’s how I created a Punjabi-Mexican connection over the weekend.

My original plan was to include cucumber, and you certainly can if you want. But in the end, I didn’t think this salsa needed it. There are already so many delicious flavours going on: juicy kiwi, tart lime, spicy chillies, fresh onions, red peppers, and verdant cilantro.

You can use this salsa in burritos, with tacos or even eat it just like that.

Health Note: A single serving of kiwi fruit has almost three times the recommended daily allowance for vitamin C. And a single kiwi has more potassium than a banana. Two kiwis contain more fibre than a bowl of bran cereal.
