Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Peanuts Shelled
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder or Smoked Hot Pimenton, if available
  • 1 Teaspoon Mild Pimenton
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Sea Salt

Instructions

  • Heat up the olive oil in a skillet.
    1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Roast the peanut in the heated oil for a minute till you can smell them.
    1 Cup Peanuts
  • Let the peanuts be golden brown.
  • Sprinkle the spices & salt on the peanuts and toss well.
    1 Teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, 1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder, 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder, 1 Teaspoon Sea Salt, 1 Teaspoon Mild Pimenton
  • Slow down the heat & allow the nuts to absorb the oil and the flavourings to develop for a couple of minutes.

Notes

  • To make this recipe of spicy peanuts slightly sweet and spicy, please feel free to add 1 tablespoon of white sugar or 2 tablespoons for jaggery powder to your spiced peanuts.
  • Make Spiced Peanuts in an Oven
    • To make spicy peanuts recipe in an  oven, preheat oven to 300 degrees, combine the oil, sugar and spices in a small bowl and stir in the peanuts.
    • Once coated well, put the peanuts onto a baking sheet. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes stirring once halfway through baking.
    • Remove from the oven to a cooling rack. Serve when cool.
    • To store Spanish spiced peanuts, cool completely and store in an airtight container.
