What is Genévrier? Genévrier is the French name for Juniper Berry. A juniper berry is the female seed cone produced by the various species of junipers. It is not a true berry but a cone with unusually fleshy and merged scales, which gives it a berry-like appearance. Juniper berries are classified in the culinary herb/spice category because they are commonly used as a flavouring for drinks and in cooking and preserving foods. it is also considered an herbal bitter and is thought to help promote digestion.
