What is Gui pi? Gui pi is the the Chinese name for Cassia. Gui pi (鬼皮) is also known as Chinese Cinnamon or Chinese Cassia are primarily harvested in in South China, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar. In India only a few plants are available. It is the dried bark of Gui pi which is a small, bushy, evergreen tree from the family Lauraceae. These essential oils have a strong antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor and anti-inflammatory effect on our biological functions and physiological activities. It has a sweet, aromatic, and pungent flavour & is used as a flavouring agent, for candies, desserts, baked goods, and meat.
