Lauki Raita or Ghiye ka Raita is a simple yet refreshing side made with grated bottle gourd and yoghurt. It is a healthy condiment that pairs very well with biryani or even a jeera rice.

  • 1 Cup Lauki Grated & Steamed
  • 1 Cups Yoghurt
  • 0.5 Teaspoons Salt Adjust it to your taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoons Black Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoons Red Chilli Powder For garnishing
  • 1/2 Teaspoons Cumin Powder
  • 1 Tablespoons Coriander Leaves Fresh


  • Get your ingredients ready.
  • Grate and boil the bottle gourd or lauki.
  • Whisk the yoghurt till smooth. If you feel that the yoghurt is too thick, you can add 4 tablespoons of milk to it
  • Add lauki to the yoghurt and mix well.
  • Add salt, black salt and cumin powder to the yoghurt and mix well.
  • Garnish with red chilli powder and chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve.
