The Story Behind Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna Goa
Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna is a vibrant & sprawling coffee shop with free wifi & a brilliant food & coffee menu.
Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna is South Indian food outlet located in the open on Siolim-Chopdem Road. It is located a few meters ahead of the Saint Anthony Church in Marna, Siolim.
A very well appointed board announces your arrival at the outlet location so you can’t really miss it. Their dosas are at the crispy best I have tasted and served with flavourful, chutney and sambar.
I highly recommended Pradeepa Taste of Tradition over Navratna Udupi located in Morjim for a South Indian breakfast or a late brunch.
Auranomy - The Ambience at Pradeepa Taste of Tradition
Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna Goa is a basic but a clean space. It is well appointed but not luxurious.
Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna located on a big sized plot in Marna, Siolim on the way to Chopdem. Their signage is visible while you are driving, so you can really miss it on your way to Morjim.
The restaurant plot has enough parking for both cars and bikes, so do use that. If you park across the road, the owner of the coconut water stall out there will threaten you and damage your vehicle for parking on his land.
The foul mouthed owner of the coconut water stand opposite Pradeepa will then pick up a fight with Pradeepa outlet owner too and threaten him, so please park in the designated parking only and enjoy your meal.
The Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna is a two man operation, so cut them some slack in case there is a delay in the service.
The owner himself takes the order, serves you and takes your feedback too. He is very receptive to your comments and complaints. The food is made by a cook who stays in the kitchen only & doesn’t venture out.
I have observed these two gents handling the outlet on several occasions, with just one table being served and while being full, with success so you can be certain to be in safe hands.
The restaurant eating area is under a thatched hutment with functional furniture. The kitchen where the magic happens is separated by green curtain and is not visible unless you cross the curtain barrier.
Here, you indeed get a feeling of eating fresh food in a garden setting. There is enough space for children to play around and in my opinion some slides & swings in the open will attract more kids with their parents.
Gastronomy - The Cuisine at Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna
Gastronomy - Pradeepa Taste of Tradition serves some great sandwiches, pizzas & more with splendid coffee.
Read on for my food experience & review of the food & beverages at Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Goa.I have been to Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Siolim quite a few times while going to Hibis Hotel & Resorts Morjim. The resort is owned by friend Chef Sujit Sinha.
Since I liked this South Indian outlet in Goa too much, I even got my Chef friend and his father to eat Pradeepa’s delicious food too. I believe they are regulars now.
During my visits, I have gorged on many of Pradeepa Taste of Tradition’s dosa, utthappam, idli & vada. I have always found their dosa to be wonderfully crisp and layered generously with Podi & Mysore Msasla.
Their chutney and sambhar are absolutely delicious. Here is a rundown.
Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Podi Dosa – Their podi dosa contains a generous layer of Gunpowder Podi (a not so chilli blend of red chillies, various lentils, pepper, etc.). The dosa was served fresh off the griddle and was not soaked in ghee.
Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Mysore Masala Dosa – This dosa is a little spicy & sour which gives it an awesome taste. Though, at one time the cook did miss to layer my Mysore Masala dosa with the masala. The feedback was well received and an apology was offered.
Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Tomato Onion Utthappam – Their utthappam sizes are quite big and more than sufficient for one person (this holds good for dosa too). They are liberally spattered with tomato and onion garnish and fried evenly. So, you encounter a variety of textures including crisp and soft.
The prices here are fairly reasonable and the batter and chutney always seem to have been made fresh. They are happy to replenish your accompaniments (sambhar and chutney) as often as you want them to be refilled.
The authenticity, taste and quality of their South Indian dishes has been consistently good. The food really delicious and the limited variety is perfect for a breakfast or a brunch. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant.
Serviconomy - Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Marna Goa
Serviconomy or service experience at Pradeepa Taste of Tradition Cafe Marna
The service at Pradeepa Taste of Tradition has been quite quick always. I don’t think even when the outlet has been full, we have had to wait for more than 10 minutes.
Feedback was always taken gracefully and apologies were offered for unintended faux pas too.
