Jeera Rice Recipe | Zeera Rice or Easy Jeera Pulao Recipe

Jeera rice or jeera pulao is your quick fix rice recipe. Zeera Rice gets made in a matter of minutes and is really no fuss. Jeera rice goes well with most Indian vegetarian or non-vegetarian curries and dishes.

Basmati Rice
Washed clean & soaked for 30 mins

Teaspoon
Ghee

Teaspoon
Salt

Cumin Seeds or Jeera
Instructions
Soak the rice for half an hour after washing it thoroughly. You can soak this directly in the pressure cooker.
To start cooking add salt, sprinkle jeera or cumin seeds on top and then pour ghee at the end.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker and on it goes on fire till it sounds one whistle.
Remove the pressure top and let the steam escape.
Fluff the rice with a fork to separate the cooked grains.
Serve hot with the curry of your choice.
Notes
Use really good quality basmati rice for this jeera rice recipe.
If you are cooking zeera rice in a pressure cooker, you can increase the rice to water ratio to 1:2.25
You can also add whole spices like bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves to this and make chawal garam masala.
Garnish on jeera pulao is an optional, but feel free to top it up with some finely chopped coriander leaves should you want.
