What is Basal (بَصَل) – Basal (بَصَل) is the Arabic name for Onion – Onion (Allium cepa Linn.) also known as the bulb onion or common onion, is a vegetable that is the most widely cultivated species of the genus Allium.

The plant is also sometimes called sweet neem & is an indispensable part of Indian cuisine and Indian traditional medicines.
