What is a kettle – A kettle, also called a tea kettle or teakettle, is a type of pot specialised for boiling water, with a lid, spout, and handle. It is a cooking utensil which is used most often to boil water for beverages made with additional ingredients that are best prepared with boiling water.
A kettle was traditionally made out of metal, copper, anodised aluminium, ceramic, glass, enamel, or stainless steel materials. These cooking vessels used to be stovetop, however, electric versions are also available now.
Kettles are popular with many coffee and tea lovers because they bring convenience, speed, and precision to the process of boiling water making the beverages get ready in a jiffy. Most kettles hold enough water for several cups, but some portable options have a smaller capacity.
