Voakhul-Kajivadh is a stone mortar and pestle used in Kashmiri cuisine. These implements used for preparing chutney and grinding in homes are made in smaller sizes.
The larger mortars are called Kanz and are carved out of Diveri stone or Poshe Hatb wood. Kanz once was a ubiquitous item in every Kashmiri home and was mainly used to hull (husk) rice or grind spices manually.
