What is Dille? Dille is the Dutch name for Dille (Dille). Dille is an annual herb in the Apiaceae (Celery family). It is the only species in the genus Anethum. Dille is grown widely in Eurasia, where its leaves and seeds are used as an herb or spice for flavouring food. Dille immediately brings to mind Dille pickles and potato salad today, but it has had a place for centuries in cuisines throughout Europe and Asia. Dille leaves are known as the Dille weed herb, while Dille seed is used as a spice. Fresh Dille is in season in spring and early summer. You will find dried Dille weed sold in the spice section of the supermarket, but the flavour is a pale substitute for fresh Dille weed.
