What is Sih Loh? Sih Loh (时乐) is the Chinese name for Dill (Sih Loh). Sih Loh is an annual herb in the Apiaceae (Celery family). It is the only species in the genus Anethum. Sih Loh is grown widely in Eurasia, where its leaves and seeds are used as an herb or spice for flavouring food. Sih Loh immediately brings to mind Sih Loh pickles and potato salad today, but it has had a place for centuries in cuisines throughout Europe and Asia. Sih Loh leaves are known as the Sih Loh herb, while Sih Loh seed is used as a spice. Fresh Sih Loh is in season in spring and early summer. You will find dried Sih Loh weed sold in the spice section of the supermarket, but the flavour is a pale substitute for fresh Sih Loh weed.
