Goreme, located among the “fairy chimney” rock formations, is a town in Cappadocia, a historical region of Turkey. It is in the Nevşehir Province in Central Anatolia. Just east of town is the Goreme Open Air Museum. Southwest Goreme is Uçhisar Castle, a fortification carved into a large rock. To the North is the Paşabağ Valley.
