The Story Behind Padaria Prazeres Panjim Goa
Padaria Prazeres Panjim is a vibrant & sprawling coffee shop with free wifi & a brilliant food & coffee menu.
Padaria Prazeres – Cafe & Bakery has carved its place amongst Goan Cafes & Bakeries serving deliciously simple, fuss free food. Despite having a a limited menu, Padaria Prazeres has a nice relaxed and unhurried vibe.
A brainchild of Chef Ralph Prazeres (hence the name which also means “pleasures” in Portuguese), a Le Cordon Bleu alumni, & his wife Stacy Gracias, Padaria Prazeres is a charming 20-seater space & aims to bring a slice of European pastries and baked goodies to Goa.
While Chef Prazeres manages their artisanal bakery & its production, Stacy Gracias manages marketing, inventory, accounts, and operations. So, the padaria (Portuguese for bakery) is a well buttered and run family business.
The cafe offers an uncommon array of bakery and confectionery temptations like Berliners, pizza breads, ciabatta sandwiches, almond cookies and much more!
They are relatively new in town and will celebrate their first birthday next month and have many specials going as I am writing this review. So go visit & check the chalked up board for the day’s goodies.
Auranomy - The Ambience at Padaria Prazeres Panjim
Padaria Prazeres Caranzalem Panjim is a clean space. It is bright, happy and colourful.
Padaria Prazeres Panjim is a bite sized place and can use some more space. it is located at Celeste Plaza, Ground Floor, Opposite Models Celebrity, Caranzalem, Panjim. You’ll probably need a google map if you are going for the first time.
The parking is by the street and barely suffices for 4-5 cars. You alight and walk into their green cordoned verandah that has small outdoor seating and is a smoking zone too. You’ll find ashtrays at the table.
The insides of the cafe are as spartanly colourful as they can be. Having said that, the ambiance is beautifully conceptualised with colours and make you feel happy. The cafe space seemed comfortable for breakfast too.
The furniture is comfortable and allows people to sit and relax while eating. However, the cafe and bakery stays busy, so it might not be a place to work productively from.
As you enter you note that on the left side of the cafe is the work counter that has the cashier & goodies display station. The aroma of the fresh bakes as you walk through the doors just makes your mouth water.
And, then the chalk board in the front grabs your attention and you start deciding what all you want to devour.
We were greeted by the hostess who was very friendly despite being busy and helped us pick out menu options and answered our questions with patience and a smile.
Gastronomy - The Cuisine at Padaria Prazeres Panjim
Gastronomy - Padaria Prazeres serves some great sandwiches, pizzas & more with splendid coffee.
Read on for my food experience & review of the food & beverages at Padaria Prazeres Goa – Perhaps the best Portuguese-European Cafe & Bakery in Panjim.
Two of us landed one morning and were warmly received and seated. Padaria Prazeres has Indoor sitting and outdoor setting areas so you can choose depending upon the weather.
The Padaria Prazeres menu at this cafe is clearly its biggest asset. High quality menu items, intimate settings, and a happy team showcases hospitality at its best.
The array of food is very interesting and and showcases snacks, pastries, sandwiches, shakes and coffee that you would not find in most cafes in Goa.
You can experience the authentic taste from Lisbon, Portugal when here. Try out their mouthwatering Pasteis De Nata (Portuguese Custard Tarts), sweet & savoury berliners, madeleines, financiers, palmiers & melt in the mouth (carrot, banana, date& walnut) cakes.
Every morning they bake baguette (multigrain & regular ones), brioche, olive & onion focaccia, bagels, garlic butter Kknots, cheese scones etc. which get sold out as fast as they come out of the oven.
While I ordered a simple Cappuccino and my friend Sonit Uppal ordered an Iced Tea. This was becoming our usual beverage order.
Our breakfast order included Padaria Prazeres – Roast Chicken Sandwich and Padaria Prazeres – Cafe & Bakery – Egg & Mayo Sandwich. We sweet polished everything off with Padaria Prazeres Berliners. Here is the run down.
Padaria Prazeres Cappuccino –As always, I requested for extra hot and extra strong coffee but the coffee I received was not as strong as I like.
I still feel Tall Dark Handsome coffee at Big Fat Sandwich is the best you can get in Goa. However, this cappuccino was freshly brewed and hot and good too.
Padaria Prazeres Iced Tea – While, most Indian loved their tea hot steeped in gingerly flavour, Sonit Uppal always opts for an Iced Tea. And, he was happy with his “ready to sip” iced sugary water at this instance too.
Padaria Prazeres Roast Chicken Sandwich – The bread was fresh and so was the lettuce. So in effect the roast chicken had fresh accompaniments.
It was quite a petite sandwich at a small price but I have my suspicions on the portion size which from my point of view was also small. It can’t satiate hunger of a big eater, even if it had the perfect chicken softness.
Padaria Prazeres Egg Mayo Sandwich – I’ll call it delicious however, the makers can go a little less on mayonnaise and find a way to let people taste the egg too. It can be done simply by playing around with seasoning.
Padaria Prazeres Berliners – Their fluffiest Berliners were super soft and so comforting. We knew we shouldn’t have ordered them, but we did and then we ate them too. The Berliners were the real stars of the show.

Something about being paid to write about a subject bothers me, but I will always be completely honest.
I never accept payments to write something that I do not agree with and I only accept sponsored posts that fit into my food philosophy so you’ll never read about me recommending everything people may pay for.
