The usual question: Can a soup really be good enough to be called the “GM Wonder Soup”?
Well, there are some clear benefits of a soup like this:
- It is a low-calorie soup, but it leaves you feeling satisfied and full.
- If you go by my recipe (below) you’ll find it has great flavour (otherwise it can be a bit insipid).
- It adds up to good dietary fibre to our meals
- It cures irritable bowel movement, constipation, and other skin issues too
- It plays the role of a quick fix energy booster
GM Diet famous for it’s quick weight loss plan of about 10 pounds in a week owes much of its effects to the GM diet wonder soup that is a big part of the diet plan.
So, I did go through the GM Diet and quite successfully so. As a result, I felt fresh and rejuvenated after it. And I have been able to maintain my weight as well. Furthermore, the weight loss is noticeable as pointed out by many.
GM Diet Soup is one essential that is instrumental in the GM Diet plan. Having said that, GM Diet Soup can be insipid for many as it was for me. Therefore, I tweaked the recipe to suit my taste and the result was quite delicious.
And, my tweaks maintained the necessary nutrition and fibre which are essential for weight loss. You can eat the GM Diet Soup in as much quantity as you want while on the diet.
Note: GM Diet is a week-long program that’s one part diet and one part detox.
GM Diet Soup or GM Diet Wonder Soup Recipe with Spinach
Ingredients
- 4 Piece Tomatoes Medium size
- 2 Piece Onions Medium size
- 1 Cup Spinach
- 1 Piece Celery
- 0.5 Cup Coriander Fresh
- 2 Piece Green Chillies Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Mint Fresh & Chopped
- 1 Piece Lemon Slice in half
- .25 Teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust it to suit your taste
- .25 Teaspoon Salt & Rock Salt Adjust it to suit your taste
Instructions
- Clean and chop onions and celery.
- Now, clean and quarter the tomatoes.
- Clean and roughly chop the spinach (you can also add some cabbage here. I avoided it due to my aversion to cooked cabbage.)
- Heat water in a saucepan and add the onions, tomatoes and celery.
- Add the chopped spinach.
- Season with salt, rock salt and pepper to suit your taste. I like it peppery so usually add more black pepper.
- Mix well and bring it to a rolling boil.
- Simmer once the vegetables have tenderised a bit.
- Add coriander, green chillies, mint and juice of half a lemon. Simmer till these are well incorporated.
- Remove from fire, add the juice of remaining half a lemon and serve hot.
Notes
- You can also make GM Diet Soup in a bigger batch and store in the refrigerator. Heat and eat when the hunger pangs attack.
- Adjust the heat from chillies by deseeding them or reducing them. You can also avoid adding them, should you wish.
