All About Sazon Seasoning or Sazón | Benefits of Sazón
All About Latin Sazon Seasoning | Sazon Spice Blend Seasoning – Pronounced sa-son, is a type of flavourful spice seasoning, or a seasoning salt.
It is majorly used in Puerto Rican, Spanish and Mexican cooking. The word Sazon means ‘seasoning’ in Spanish, so it is easy to see where the name for this seasoning comes from.
In Puerto Rican cookery, also known as Cocinando Criollo or Creole cooking, a rich flavor base is everything.
This is usually achieved by simmering cooking bases like sofrito or recaito with added spice blends, such as sazon and adobo.
The spice blend is used to add a punch of salty flavour to many popular Latin American dishes, including vegetables, beans, tacos and burritos.
This mix of herbs and spices is a classic addition to Arroz con Pollo, but it can be sprinkled on anything from eggs to black bean soup to grilled fish as well.
It is a common “all-purpose” seasoning in Central American cuisine. You will find it absolutely delightful on slow-roasted pork shoulder or even lamb roast!
