Uptown Fresh Beer Cafe was located at the back side of Galleria market, however, it went under total renovation and reemerged with a new name – DownTown Fresh Beer Cafe.
It is now back with new spanking interiors, furniture and two doors. One is still where it was, while the second opens into the mainstream of the DLF Galleria market right in front of Delhi Wale Sardar Ji.
The location is in a premium neighbourhood market that is used by shoppers living in premium condominiums for their daily tasks of ordering food, getting their hair cut or buying their groceries, having a coffee or buying sunglasses or cellphones.
Barring the new interiors at the same but extended location, it is the same place with a new brand that serves freshly brewed delicious beer and some fantastic food under a larger roof.
It is related to brands like Downtown, Manhattan, Open Tap and Bronx Bar (closed now) which are already doing fantastic in their respective niches. The group I am told by the internet is led by Mr. Rajesh Yadav.
The liquor laws in Haryana lean on the lighter side {thank goodness}, and luckily for us, that also extends to beer production.
It’s fairly obvious, then, that Gurgaon has recently seen the reemergence of a significant number of spots brewing canisters full of light and dark beers all over the city.

How comfortable will you be at DownTown?
Downtown Fresh Beer Cafe, is the only brewery of the DLF Galleria market that has maintained its quality of beer and food.
With two-level seating and a dimly-lit space, Downtown has become a popular haunt for the Gurgaon crowd in recent times. Well, this is such a place which just lightens up your soul.
And yes despite being dimly lit, you can still see one another and read the check too. Despite being tight and cosy and split into two levels it is quite comfortable and can host about 75 people.
It has a very contemporary ambience with music put at the right volume where friends can indulge in animated, usually good, conversations.
This certainly is a big advantage as they keep the atmosphere lively and at the same time help people talk and get heard too.
They have been kind enough towards their smoke relishing patrons and have provided a smoking room within the premises with neon-lit rocking musicians hung on the walls.
Inanimated ones, Some of them are dead, some ain’t but here they are still hanging on the walls with the smokers in the brewpub.
It doesn’t have any restrictions for non-smokers who can stand around smokers. While in this room you’ll be able to forget those ordeals you had in the smoking room at Terminal 3 (T3) of Delhi Airport (IGIA).
The smoking room has a lot of rack space for your mugs to warm upon and a few stools to cool your bums too.
The comfy lounge chairs on the upper deck look like they are meant for a sit-down dinner with beer but that’s not what this place is ideal for.
This is the perfect place to have a chat, bump into your neighbour or come with your beloved partner for a light evening.
Especially if you enjoy a drink with loved ones or spend some time with yourself over fresh beer and music of the 80s onwards.
Recommended by Sidhant Malhotra, have been to DownTown a few times at various parts of the day. I have always found the place to be buzzing with people, good retro music, great beer and good food.

How is the beer'y beer at DownTown?
Its own brewery is quite popular with those having a taste for beer, and for others, the bar is quite well stocked as well. They have a cocktail menu as well. So go rocking your tails.
Their beers are freshly brewed and low on calories {yay!}, so take your pick from their wheat, premium, or dark beers.
Beer wise you get to taste the freshest beer that’s available from their in-house brew pub in different variants and flavours.
Don’t miss the ceremonial taster shots of their beer to start with so you can choose what you prefer from the taster.
Their freshly brewed beers are Premium Lager, Dark Lager, and German Wheat.
Their premium lager beer is an unfiltered beer with some remnants of yeast. I’d call this bitter than Dark beer which is bitter and slightly sweet. Their German Wheat beer is a crowd-pleaser.
German wheat is a light beer which has mild flavours of clove and raw banana. It is one of the better brewed wheat beers I have ever had in Gurgaon.
It is light and smooth and not bitter hoppy, it gave an amazing experience much better than others. We both chose it from the taster shots.

How is the service at DownTown?
Food Service Adjectives are Good, Polite, Well Organised and Helpful
The staff of the restaurant is exceptionally good, polite, well organised and helpful.
The lady at the Delhi Wale Sardar Ji door greets you nicely, asks the right questions to get you the right table and then escorts you there.
Once you are seated, the area steward keeps an eye on you to capture your order and/or reorder. Rest assured, the guys don’t stalk you. They answer questions about their/your beer and popular food on the menu.
Their service is attentively fast. Hot food comes to your table hot enough and not cool or cold just in case you are wondering.
They do charge 10% as a service charge. However, it is still a great place for a meet-up after work for drinks and a bite to eat.

And they have a great selection of Indian and Western foods to go with their fabulous beers. The food menu is quite eclectic and mostly of good quality. I haven’t had a bad-sad experience here.
The good thing about this place is that the people keep trying something new constantly to stay in tune with the times.
We had ordered their superb thin-crust pepperoni pizza to nibble on with spicy vegetarian mozzarella sticks that were served with tartare sauce.
The pizza and mozzarella sticks were indeed mouth-watering and made us order another round of pitchers.
With the second ginormous pitcher, we ordered a portion of bruschetta. Nice crisp bread, well toasted, covered with homemade sauce and liberally covered with a garnish of vegetables. It was totally delightful.
The place is very nice to spend the evening with friends. And if you are from central Gurgaon, you may even find some of your friends here.
An experience at DownTown is always nice, please don’t assume otherwise and pay a visit for some wheat beer as soon as possible. You would love it !!
