Tomato Chutney Recipe; Delightfully Tangy Affair
In India, chutneys are an essential condiment. Chutneys can be sweet, sour, spicy or tangy and all of it as well. Hence, our meals are not considered complete without these indispensable accompaniments.
Here is a simple recipe of a delightfully tangy tomato chutney that you can use as a companion in almost all of your meals and snacks.
This is one delicious, tangy, sweet and spicy chutney of tomatoes cooked with spices.
Therefore, this gluten-free, vegan bright red tomato chutney recipe pairs best with rice, chapati, parathas, pulao, dal-rice and even khichdi.
Note: Once you add the powdered spices to the hot oil, add the blended ingredients within ten seconds, or else the powdered masalas will burn.

| Turmeric Powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cumin Powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Mustard Seeds | For tempering | 1 Teaspoon |
| Red Chilli Powder | Kashmiri for tempering | 1 Teaspoon |
| Curry Leaves | For tempering | 1 Sprig |
| Brown Sugar | For tempering | 1 Teaspoon |
| Olive Oil | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Lemon Juice | 1 Tablespoon |
The Process to make Tomato Chutney
- First of all, get the ingredients ready. Cut tomatoes in quarters. Chop coriander leaves.
- Add all ingredients except the ones labelled “for tempering” to the blender.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and add turmeric and cumin powders to it.
- Now add the blended mixture with 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and cook till the oil separates.
- Take a tempering pan and heat 1 tablespoon of oil in it. Add mustard seeds.
- When they splutter add curry leaves, red chilli powder and brown sugar.
- And now add the tempering to the cooked chutney and mix well.
- Finally, enjoy it with a meal or snack of your choice.

टमाटर की चटनी बनाने के लिए कुछ मात्राएँ।
- तैयारी का समय: ५ मिनट
- पकाने/ बनाने का समय: ३० मिनट
- बनाने का बर्तन: फ़्राइइंग पैन और तड़का पैन
- मात्राएँ: आधी बोतल
सामग्री टमाटर की चटनी बनाने के लिए।

| लाल मिर्च पाउडर | कश्मीरी तड़के के लिए | १ छोटा चमच |
| करी पत्ता | तड़के के लिए | १ टहनी |
| भूरी चीनी | तड़के के लिए | १ छोटा चमच |
| ऑलिव ओईल | ३ बड़े चमच | |
| निम्बू का रस | १ बड़ा चमच |
टमाटर की चटनी बनाने की विधि।
- सारी सामग्री बटोर लें। टमाटर को चार भाग में काट लें। धनिया पत्ता छोटा काट लें।
- तड़के की सामग्री को छोड़ का बाक़ी सारी सामग्री मिक्सी में चला लें।
- एक फ़्राइइंग पैन में दो बड़े चमच ऑलिव ओईल ले लें और उसमें हल्दी और ज़ीरा पाउडर डाल लें।
- अब पिसे हुए टमाटर इस में डाल लें और पका लें।
- तड़का पैन में एक बड़ा चमच ऑलिव ओईल गरम कर लें और राई डाल दें।
- जब राई भून जाए तो इसमें करी पत्ता, लाल मिर्च और भूरी चीनी डाल के अच्छे से गरम कर लें।
- अब इस तड़के को पके हुए टमाटर में मिला लें। टमाटर की चटनी तयार है।
- खाने के साथ परोसें।
