Food, Beverages & Service at Noronha's Corner
Since 2009, three Goan brothers, Charles, Lazarus and Joseph, have been serving some of the choicest Goan-style meals & poi-sandwiches you will have tasted in Goa, from their food truck called Noronha’s Corner.
The Noronha Brothers’ food truck sits right at the Assagao-Anjuna crossing every evening and invites everyone, from locals and tourists. It’s a haven for hungry people and serves traditional Goan food.
The food truck is there every day, come rain or sun, from 6:30 pm till late into the night. However, given their popularity, remember that if you reach very late, you may miss out on your favourite.
Whenever I cross from Assagao to Anjuna, I make it a point to stop here and grab a poi. Over a period of time, I have tried their beef chilli fry with poi, the beef croquettes, sausage poi, the fish cutlet and poi.
Everything I have tried from their truck is way better than any fancy restaurant at a quarter of the cost in comparison.
Last night, when we visited, Sujit, Balram & I, the totally famished trio, their delicious chicken cafreal and the chorizo poi were our order.

Noronha’s Corner, Goa, is a uniquely placed enterprise, given its location & menu.
Why is it unique?
They have been there at the same location for the last 15 years without having missed a day of serving their delicious food to their patrons.
The crossing is frequented by hundreds of people who look for good food in the wee hours of the night. Their location is perfect for a quick bite on your way to or from the beach.
The prices deserve a special mention — all this deliciousness comes very reasonably priced between INR 100 and INR 300 per plate.
You will also be impressed with the ambience (happy joyous people) and the cleanliness at their outlet, as well as the service.
The Late Night Snacking at Noronha's Corner is the Day's Spotlight
The Menu Offers Both Goan Food, Desserts & Beverages with Adequate Portions
As I mentioned before that three of us (Sujit, Balram & I) happened to stop there quite famished. We were coming back to Morjim after meeting an old friend from college, Neil Nitin Jordan, after almost 32 years.
We all met at a pub called Fituur at Anjuna, where we tanked up on a few drinks and, in that revelry, didn’t manage to grab dinner. As a result, our drive back to Morjim was spent scouting for some good food.
The truck was, however, gravitating towards the Assagao-Anjuna crossing and our hunger radar deployed immediately as we neared Noronha’s Corner.
As I deposited my truck at one end of the food truck, I noticed that not very many people were there. That was a reassurance that we will not be famished for a long time.
In the meantime, Sujit & Balram browsed over their familiar menu and placed an order for their delicious chicken cafreal and the chorizo poi.
The tattooed brother at the helm took our order, and by this time of our pondering, the area around was full of other famished humans busy placing their orders for deliciousness.
The brothers in arms got frantically busy rustling up all the orders and taking the payments they were now receiving.
We got our side of the traditional Goan food of Chicken Cafreal and Goan Chorise and hot pois to go with them. I would like to point out here that the food is not heavy at all, either for your pocket or your tummy.
The Goan Chorizo & Poi was nothing short of sensational. It was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
Their Chicken Cafreal Poi is a richly aromatic, long-marinated fried chicken that’s smothered in a spicy, coriander-heavy sauce and stuffed in a bun called Poi totally made our day.
For those who don’t know Chicken Cafreal, it is ubiquitous on restaurant menus across Goa and widely known across the world as a signature Goan dish.
However, history claims that in fact, until the 1970’s, Chicken Cafreal was unknown in Goa.
