THE STORY BEHIND ORIGAMI GURGAON (FROM VDELIVER)
VDeliver.online is a unilateral cloud kitchen project of Bhupender Nath & Chef Sahil Singh
Origami Gurgaon is a relatively new delivery outlet (announced in March 2021) in Gurgaon offering Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian & Thai food. Their seafood is much to be written home about.
Origami is a part of VDeliver.online, a unilateral cloud kitchen based in Gurugram, that offers numerous cuisines for home delivery under one roof.
Vdeliver.online was founded by Bhupender Nath of Dubai-based Passion F&B group, with Chef Sahil Singh as its Culinary Head.
The second best part, beyond the vast array of cuisines under their belt, is that they have their own delivery fleet, apart from Zomato, to support the multitude of kitchen concepts in their enterprise.
VDeliver food concepts include Westside Story servs Italian, Origami offers progressive pan-Asian, Sehar Saanjh presents Indian fine-dining with Salt n Sugar being their in-house bakery.
Further, Dragon Dray offers modern Chinese, Biryani Walk is dedicated to India’s favourite rice dish, Pizza Studio to pizzas, Honest Buns to burgers, Roll Sholl to rolls, and Soya Yum exclusively to dishes made with soya.
I will eventually graduate to the rest of Vdeliver concepts in Gurgaon soon, now that I have kick started from Origami Gurgaon. So my readers, do stay glued for more. Thank you in advance :)
The Cuisine at Origami Gurgaon from VDeliver.online
Origami serves dishes from Chinese, Malaysian, Thai & Japanese cuisines.
Origami serves dishes from Chinese, Malaysian, Thai & Japanese cuisines. The food I am very partial to having savoured it from childhood, while now I make some of it too.
The menu for the outlet was very enticing and quite elaborate too. I felt ordering just two dishes may not make me grab the flavour from all of them or do a full fledged justice to the partial review.
But I then was ordering for just myself. And, I could always order for more later. For now I decided to order the classics dishes from the Japanese and Thai cuisines.
With this reality check in placed, I ordered for a Prawn Tempura, loaded with Chili Garlic And Celery and my favorite Pad Thai Noodles.
In my opinion, these two classic dishes are quite more than enough to rate the quality of food served by any outlet claiming to be great.
Origami Delivery Service & Packaging
The packaging was totally spill proof and made out of good material.
My delivery order arrived in time by courtesy of Zomato. The rider was quite polite and wearing a mask, so full marks are given to the delivery rider.
Overall, the packaging was quite in order as you have seen above. The packaging was not only totally spill proof packaging but made out of good material.
The best part was that the Pad Thai noodles & Open Bao were hot & intact by the time the order landed on my doorstep.
Both the dishes came in neatly packed and well-labeled boxes, even though the holding strips were slipping. See below.
Origami Food Experience Review
Readers! Please note that this is not a review that has been paid for by the outlet or sponsored by an agency.
My order of Prawn Tempura Open Bao & Pad Thai Noodles was priced at Rs. 610 that I realize is very cost effective for the quantity and quality of food that was delivered.
- Prawn Tempura Open Bao – This is tempura fried prawns mixed with celery & chili garlic sauce. The two super soft bao were not only just beautiful to look at, they were also absolutely delicious.
- Pad Thai Noodles are stir-fried rice noodle dish commonly served as a street food and at most restaurants in Thailand as part of the country’s cuisine. These are one of my favorites and I have even eaten them straight out of the wok in Thailand. So, I usually seek a similar flavour in Gurgaon too and I also realise it is very difficult to find. But, for this I vouch for Origami. Also, the Pad Thai wrapped in the omelette was a really novel presentation. This I had never seen before even in Chiang Mai, where I have had the best Pad Thai ever.
Their food quality overall was simply great. It was well presented and made with freshest possible ingredients. The sweet and tangy sauces made the lip smacking food experience even more interesting.
In fact, even with someone like me who has quite a decent appetite, I think that the order portion quantity was quite sufficient for two, which makes the price point even more reasonable for this deliciousness.
The only other restaurant in Gurugram who does this and comes highly recommended like Origami is Qwinny’s. So do check out Qwinny’s too.
