Chateau de Pondichery – Nice People, Great Ambience & Above Average Food
Chateau de Pondichery is a Franco Tamilian restaurant located at Adchini, New Delhi. After driving past it numerous times and making a mental note to visit it, I finally dropped in to Chateau de Pondichery last afternoon.
At Chateau de Pondichery, the first thing that struck me was that they were very warm and courteous. Everyone from the valet to the staff at attendance were all polite and eager to help. The valet took the car and within minutes had it tucked away in the limited parking facility. There was a warm welcome at the entrance of the restaurant and we were seated in no time at all. Water was served impromptu and menus were presented. The service staff even helped us choose what to order from the extensive menu.

The restaurant is quite elegant to look at but there were some smatterings of clumsiness as well that I was unable to ignore. Their French windows on white textured walls make you look into the green wilderness of Sanjay Van which is mesmerising. The interiors are nice and the colours and patterns make you feel comfortable. As a result, most patrons at the restaurant were merrily lounging and enjoying their conversations. Just a place where you’d like to hangout with friends at leisure.
Chateau de Pondichery serves both French and Tamilian cuisine inspired fare. Since we were famished, we decided to with the steward’s recommendation. Hence, our ordered finally comprised of chilled beer, Chicken Kothu Pranatha & Kozhi Molavu Varuval (served with soft buns). We ordered the food from their small bites section thinking we will opt for the main course later. However, after a beer each and having glutted on the small bites there was hardly any stomach space left. The food overall was wonderful and I am sure I’ll head back for more of their large plates and other delicacies.
For dessert we ordered their Double Chocolate Cake which was off. When we informed the stewardess about the same, she quickly apologies and replaced it with their Carrot Cinnamon Cake which again was outstanding. In fat, they didn’t even bill us for the cake which is an example of being great hosts.
To Sum-It-Up: Chateau de Pondichery is unique and has much to offer in terms of food. I am sure I’ll keep visiting them regularly for other splendid items on their menu.

To Sum It Up
Summing up my experience at Chateau de Pondichery Adhchini
Puran Singh Ka Vishal Mashoor Dhaba has the loyalty of travellers, politicians and farmers.
Humans proceed to Chandigarh and reverse throng to this dhaba for the sake of their nostalgia and then share their remorse for being here.
I have even witnessed a few fights at the dhaba as well so the entertainment continues.
This is despite the fact forewarning & negative experiences have been written & narrated about the Dhaba. However, the patrons still come back to it hoping for it to get better.
